I think it's in the category if you feel like it might be good go for it. If you just feel like it seems like something you're supposed to do cause that's what good pipe smokers do then skip it. Basically if the thought of buying blending tobacco and smoking it all by it's self sounds fun then yeah, if not then why bother. If you want a better palate smoke and write reviews. You don't need to publish them just write them. Something about taking those steps helps prime the brain to pay more attention. You'll get more a of a palate writing reviews then you will dissecting components.

Alot times if I want to know what each component in a blend is contributing I'll read the Jiminks review. Although it must be said that reading a description still won't give you the actual experience of what it actually tastes like. Sensory perceptions have to be experienced; imagine trying to describe what a banana tastes like to someone who's never eaten a banana.
