LC-Based MarTelo Pipe

Hello friends! :puffpipe:
A fellow Dunhill collector friend of mine and myself commissioned a pair of LC-inspired pipes to be made for us by Gustavo Cunha. They just got finished and will be shipping out to us tomorrow. If any of you haven’t checked out Gustavo’s work before, do yourself a favor and give his site a browse. I’ll try and remember to give a functionality review once I receive the pipe!

Both are drop-dead gorgeous!

The pipes are 6.5 in. X 2.5 in., but I forget what the chamber diameter and depth are. I’ll check back!

Love my marTelo panel.. smokes as good as it looks.
Another great LC style maker is Max Capps.

Oh, a panel? Is it one of his awesome longshanked panels? That was what I was originally going to order before I got sidetracked by the bent billiard!

Nope, a shorter (~5") with banana bakelite stem. Love the way this stem feels.

I've exchanged a dozen or so emails with Gus over the past year about a commission but I can't seem to make my mind up.

He's definitely top 5 for me.

My friend owns one of those by Max. It certainly is a nice pipe!

The pipe arrived and has been smoked!

The finish is incredible, the craftsmanship is top-notch, and it practically smokes itself! There is perfect balance through the entire pipe, so it hangs comfortably in the mouth, and feels natural in the hand. The draw is smooth and open, and even at the relatively larger size, the pipe is very light.

It’s time to sell off some of my Dunhills so I can get more MarTelo pipes, haha!

10/10 Highly Recommended!
