In the wilds of Arizonastan, seemingly as an apology for a week or so of premature triple-digit weather, this evening found me confronted with excruciatingly pleasant weather. 82 degrees or so with a faint breeze, after a very brief sprinkle of rain, just before midnight. The call was overwhelming, and who am I to disobey? Out to the front porch I went, my cheap but sturdy Leonessa loaded with Lane 1-Q and smartphone loaded with the audiobook du jour. There, I have spent a lovely hour having quality time with today's pipe, listening to the narrator and thinking many happy non-thoughts, only pausing to pop inside, fetch another beer, and type this bit of rambling out before I trot back out to finish the last third of the bowl.
It's a nice change of pace, as I am generally puffing while having a Netflix binge or plinking away at my seemingly never-ending list of games I have yet to finish on Steam. I love my computer and the distractions inherent thereupon, but it was great to slow down and just be. Hope everyone else has time to do this every now and again.

Sounds pretty darn good to me! We all need these peaceful relaxing moments of nothingness. :)

You bring back memories of those few and far between cool days of summer in the southwest. I used to own a small ranch across from Terlingua Texas. After a week or so of heavy heat, you would get a day or two of moderate weather. Getting outside

and enjoying it was a wonderful time to be alive. Then, of course, the heat would return, and life would go on as usual.

Sort of gave you a chance to catch your breath though. Sounds like you found the perfect thing to help you enjoy the break.
