Is there any way to repair or replace a ripped latex lining for a leather tobacco pouch? I discovered a rip in my very nice Peterson pouch, and I'd hate to discard it. Is there anyone out there that does this kind of work?

Years ago I used duct tape. Seriously! Worked very well for a couple of years. It was a leather roll-up that finally fell to pieces. By then I had arrived, as it were, and purchased . . . wait for it . . . a Dunhill roll-up.

Reading this thread prompts a question: Why is it that latex prophylactics have a distinctive -or distinktive :) - odor, but the latex lining in a tobacco pouch does not? This is strange, since I assume that it's the same rubber used in each product.

I was going to suggest using a condom. Then I realized that getting the head, of the pipe, inside for loading the tobacco would be kinda tough. Lube would mess up the tobacco and . . . perhaps a Mod could clean this up for me. I'm getting in over my head!

I would seriously consider using two nested baggies. You could get a better seal and could be removed for loading and replaced for pennies as needed. And I think doubled baggies keep tobacco fresher than the latex liners. MHO
