I've been picking up the Tudor Beasts coin series in platinum from the Royal Mint, they release two a year on average. There should be 10 in all, plus a "completer" coin; the sixth has just been released and I jumped on it immediately - production of the fourth and fifth in platinum was quite limited, so FOMO operates here, just in case. Pretty, anyway, if a somewhat uncertain investment.

Looking at that panther I was sure I'd seen its likeness somewhere before... IMG_20241014_170335~3.jpg

Used to collect US Mint silver proofs. After few state quarters, got bored out of it.

Heh, I only bought the first one as "something different". Then the second because I have two principle inheritors. After the third, I realised that I was in it to the end...

I thought Tudor was a royal family name in the time of knights. Are "Tudor Beasts" royal animals?

I realize I may be making quite a mess-up regarding history. I'm not trying to be a smart a**.

I was going to make a joke about Prince Andrew, but I suppose that'd be a Windsor beast

They're associated with the family of Jane Seymour, third wife of Henry VIII, and are represented in statuary at Hampton Court Palace.
