Starting to Get Obsessed
Big GLP fan. My favorites in no particular order are:
Quiet Nights
Gaslight
Maltese Falcon
Lagonda
Charring Cross
Navigator

I think Greg might be making some of the best English blends in the U.S. right now. I feel like in 10 years, we are going to be talking about some of his blends the way we talk about McClelands. We’ll wish that we had stocked up when we had the chance.

Still under a year of pipe smoking here, so the only ones I've tried so far are Windjammer, Ellipsis Flake, Penny Farthing and Quiet Nights.

Like a bunch of others, I found Windjammer to have a heavy kick right out of the tin, though that's partly me still learning to slow down and sip. After a few months in the jar either it, or I (maybe both?) have mellowed, and I'm really starting to appreciate it for what it is. Ordered another tin to age.

Ellipsis I loved by the 2nd or 3rd bowl, enough so that I ordered a bunch more and am exploring other Va/Oriental blends.

Penny Farthing and Quiet Nights I thought were both high quality blends, but I think I'll like them more after at least a few months in a jar -- I'm finding this to be the case with most of the C & D manufactured blends I've encountered. I'm sitting on my other GL Pease tins until at least next spring as a result.

I'm looking forward to fall and popping open a tin of Blairgowrie to see how things are on the Drucquer side.

Updates. The Spark Plug was difficult to prepare but possibly worth the time. Its a Meta tough " Block " of Tabac that seemingly must be sliced and then rubbed somewhat after it dries. I use a meat Cleaver to initially prepare any of the long cut tobaccos of the day and go back to the tin in measured amounts to par dry. An acceptable smoke. The one GL Pease blend I forgot to mention was " Maltese Falcon." For the balkan style, I found this one of the best. I liked it better than Odyssey. But Oh for the Days of " Blue Mountain " there shall be lamenting......
