I got try the DiMonte tonight. It was great. I tried a local blend that was a little unbalanced, too sweet and not enough depth. The pipe itself smoked great. I really liked the large bite and the feel in the hand. The draw was nice and smooth. Granted I have very little experience with good pipes. I have slowly progressed from a horrific out the basket pipe to an ok Dr. Grabow (with a stinger) to this. I can't wait to try my first Peterson and beyond.

Here is a pic of me enjoying a local whiskey at our local cigar and pipe bar.

Beautiful pipe, beautiful case and you have a coffee shop that you can smoke with a cup of joe. You're set. Enjoy the smokes.

The coffee shop has an outdoor patio that is great to smoke on and the weather is wonderful here about 75% of the year.

Got a few more smokes on each of these pipes and here is what I have learned so far:

The DiMonte practically smokes itself. It is a great pipe for the novice smoker. I find that I am partial to the straight or quarter bent pipes.

The Bjarn is also a good smoker but I find that I am not overly fond of the bent stem. It just doesn't feel right in my hand or in my mouth.

Looking forward to trying my new Peterson quarter bent 408 when it shows up.

I think my next acquisition will be a straight billiard or brandy.

You have made a great start on your collection. I especially like the Bjarne. I'm sure that you will be enjoying these pipes for a long, long time.
