One of two new pipes I recently added to my small but growing collection. Nothing special. The grain is what caught my eye. It's also a first for me in several ways; my first Canadian and first matte finish. The only negative is cleaning. The shank requires a longer cleaner and I don't have any of the bristled variety.

Very nice pipe. I've been eyeing those riband's for some time. I love the matte finish.
Let us know how she smokes.

The Blue Ribands were known for their beautiful grain. But they were never issued in a matte finish, so either the pipe has been refinished, or the original finish hasn't been maintained. Won't affect the smoking properties.

This appears to be a Comoy of recent vintage. They are simply called Ribands, not Blue Ribands. So they are different animals, but certainly nice pipes.

Yeah. This is a new pipe. I always forget to ask the tobacconist for the name of a pipe when I get a new one. Always end up scouring Smokingpipes and whatnot until I come across it. Gonna throw a pre apology out there for whenever I mislabel a pipe.
As for the smoking part; it does seem to run a little hotter than most of my other pipes. I assume that is because the walls are a bit thinner. I tend to smoke a little hot though.
Completely disregard what I said about using a longer cleaner. As I sit here and use a standard length one on this thing it became obvious I had been trying to use the cleaners from the pouch holding the ones I cut the ends off of. Woops. :D
