I finally decided to divide my few pipes into the groups according to blends.

My question is about burning temperature. Does Virginia usually burns hotter than other mixes?

Or Aror will top the temperature chart? I do try to take my time puffing and have no problem setting pipe aside if it gets too warm.

I'm going to venture a wild statement and say that the largest difference you're likely to encounter will be from the ghosting of the Latakia, rather than the combustion temperatures.

Oops... I should have made myself clearer...

I have couple of pipes with rather small chamber and thicker walls.

I want to dedicate those to a hotter burning blends, that is why I asked the question

IMHO, a taller and more narrow bowl does much better for a Virginia than Lat blends.
Most Latakia blends seem to do well in a larger chamber such as an Apple, Author, Bulldog / Rhodesian, etc.

I think Va blends do burn hotter due to the higher sugar content, but yes a tall narrow pipe seems to do best with Va flakes. I've also heard a volcano shape thats wider on the bottom then smaller around the rim of the bowl does better with Va's as well. I think the best is just to experiment, some of my pipes love certain Va's over other Va's, much like certain lat mixes do better in other pipes. I've also heard think walled pipes are good for burly to further confuse you.

I find the temperature question an interesting one. I certainly don't know if there is a temperature difference when burning different types of tobacco but I image water content may make a difference.
I would not exclude a smaller bowled pipe from English blends. I prefer some English blends (like Gaslight) in a thinner chambered pipe.

+1, exactly what I think.
And yes, Virginia burns hotter than Latakia. Try it yourself, fill a pipe with Royal Yacht, smoke it for an hour. After that, fill another pipe with a Latakia blend and on the first puff you will feel the difference.

Depends on the aro I guess. C'est La Vie is the coolest burning aromatic blend I have smoked so far, on the other hand Erinmore Mixture burns hotter than any Virginia. For aros, I use shallow wide chambers, I use my big bowls for English, Balkan and Oriental blends, for Virginia blends I use tall and narrow bowls. For Virginia and Va/Per flakes however, I also use wider bowls.
