Haven't read the entire thread but.... If your pipe has metal fittings that come in contact with the smoke, that could be your problem. God forbid you're smoking something like a Falcon metal pipe!

Could be worse. He could be smoking a Dunhill or Castello.

A simple tip to remember: When hot smoke hits cold metal it creates condensation.
