A Tilshead pipe wouldn't have a P grading, but the JU stamp on the stem would confirm it is an Upshall (the grain sure looks like Upshall to me!)

Al on one side it has P James Upshall FN, the other side says Tilshead England, Made by Hand. The stem has the JU emblem. The old cajun
rothnh: All James Upshall pipes are stamped "Tilshead England, Made by Hand" on one side. Upshalls have that stamp and grade on the opposite side. Tilshead pipes are not stamped Upshall, don't have a grade nor the JU on the stem.

Big Van we use Community coffee with chickory and I use my Grandmothers big drip pot, coffee is so strong you can almost stand a spoon in it, most people don"t like it, a little goes a long way LOL. The old cajun :clap:
My daughter lives in New Orleans and brings us some of this coffee on every holiday/visit. We don't have the heart to tell her it's not our cup of tea, er, coffee. I guess it is an acquired taste.
Bradley, what a great score. Upshalls right now are one of the best deals on the estate market. I also have three and they are all great smokers. Most people do not realize it but Upshalls are a true artisan pipe. Barry Jones does all the carving and he is a master. I am always on the lookout to add another to the collection.
