can anyone who uses these give me some advice on what i need to get started? lamp/accesories how much they cost to maintain and life of the unit. I have a mini ozone machine that helps a lot but stills leaves a bit of smoke smell lingering in my living room. How effective are these Lampe Berger lamps? ive never seen one outside of the internet.

Make sure you use essential oils to mix. Plus the mild ones aren’t as effective. I use cinnamon. I also put about 40 drops in 16oz, sounds like a lot, but it is nothing out of the small bottles.

Yeah Roth, people see a little bottle for $4, but that will last you a long time. I've been through 8 16oz bottles and haven’t hit half way. The amount I use is really a top amount, you can use less, and probably stronger scents even less. Also you can get that little ball from amazon for about $30, no need for the fancy ones; the black one fits my decor anyways. You can also just buy the wick from ebay for $5 delivered and make your own. I'm looking around for something cool to make with the one I got. Another thing is don’t fire the stone, and forget about it lols, and cap it when you’re done, that stone will stay hot for many hours past what you need and keep burning the alcohol until it's gone.

Yeah they come with all the parts. I really don’t think the wick goes bad, it's only purpose is to move the fluid up to the stone to be burned off. I've seen now change in the wick I've got, white as the day it arrived. Maybe the stone breaks?

Only have to get the 92% and the scent. Just go to Target, or whatever cheap store you can find. Some charge $4 for 16oz, and I got 32oz bottles for $2.50 at Target. Then you've got the 91% and you can goggle anyplace really for ESSENTIAL OIL. Don't but the already mixed stuff, it's a rip off. You want a couple little bottles of what scents you may like (stronger the better) and get the 60 cent eye dropper, I'd be kicking myself in the ass if I'd forgot to get it. It also has to be an essential oil; the other kinds of oils don't work.

The stone will eventually clog. There are sites describing procedures for unclogging the stone, if you don't want to buy a new one.

Cinnamon has worked great, strong enough and my wife says it mixes well with the tobacco smell. When I order some more, I’ll be trying some others. Orange was total fail.
