So far Broken Flake #7 is the most flavorful I’ve tried. I haven’t lit it Grousemoor and Brown Flake Scented coming in the next day or two… hopefully. Conniston, Ennerdale, KC Flake are all weaker (flavor). I love the taste of Ennerdale when it hits, but it’s inconsistent to me. These will be the last I try before deciding which one to stockpile. So far, its #7.

I know how polarizing Lakeland blends are, but I could use some suggestions from those of you who like them. I want to deeply cellar a great Lakeland blend. I fell in love with GH Broken Flake #7 a few years ago. I recently pulled out a tin of Ennerdale I had lying around and found the flavor divine, when I got it, but the flavor was a bit elusive. I am waiting for a tin of Kendall Cream to arrive. I want a blend with a solid, strong Lakeland essence. Can someone point me in the right direction?

If you'd like to deep cellar Lakelands for the long haul I would suggest looking into blends come in plug form; since plugs seem to retain their essence much longer than flakes or loose cut tobaccos. I've got some plugs with 9 years of age on them that are still absolutely bursting with flavor and have aged quite well. Cob plug, Grousemoor plug, Dark plug, and Bosun plug would be good starting points to check out. puffy

My fav was Kendal Flake, but it's been discontinued. You may be able to find it in a B and M still. I did recently and bought the last of their stash. Of the existing blends, I really love Bosun Cut Plug, Brown Flake Aromatic, Ennerdale Flake, 1792 Flake, and Grousemoor Mixture. I am not too fond of dark flake aromatic or conniston. Sam's Flake is also very nice. Glengarry is okay but too mild for me. I find that Lakelands need some sweetness, and I lack that from the Dark Flake Aromatic and the Conniston. Those are my two cents! Kendal Black Cherry is pretty nice too: it's a bit floral but mostly a noticeable, nice cherry flavor. I don't really consider the chocolate flakes to be true Lakelands, but they are really good.

Grousemoor today. I’ll work with that for a couple days, then it’s on to Brown Flake Aromatic. So far, nothing has beaten Broken Flake #7. I’ve tried most of the others. These are the final 2 contenders.
