For me, at first it wasn't love but it wasn't hate...it was WTF was that, my tastebuds where shocked...now oh the love!
Something I read about SG blends on forum about 200 yr old

Blend tradition (using what was avail to them that long ago for casing and tops), imagine how cool it is for us to smoke something like this :)

Smoking Grousemoor now and will get into 1792 this afternoon. I happen to like the Lakeland treatments. Long and interesting history to the blends and truly unique.

I'd still like to know what H&H and SG are using that imparts that distinctive floral taste.

I do like it though, very much. Haven't met em' all but I haven't met a G&H baccy I didn't like.

Rose geranium is one of the scents used. I think tonquin is another fairly commonly used one. The blurb for H&H Lakeland Fortissimo mentions lavender as well.

I thought I read geranium and rose oils, hmm..would explain florals...

The soap-soap-soapy/florals aren't my thing which IMO I got

from some of SG blends...but I do love: Best Brown, Bracken,

Kendal Cream Flake, FVF, 1792 and SL

Those do sound familiar Arthur, Dragon.
As for the Tonquin, well...

My 1st take on 1792 was Gaachhhh.

Have some that's been jarred for about 10 months now. Glad my taster came around as it provides a wonderful smoke now!

Yeah my first taste if 1792 was WOW, not sure I was gonna like

It, now I crave the stuff! I open a tin and leave the cover off for about

24hrs, then it is perfect and ready to roll...
