I don't know about the cake, but I have the loose version of the blend, courtesy of lasttango. It is burley, Virginia, anisette, fruit, citrus and rum. It is aromatic at a high level, tobacco forward, flavorful and mild. If you like sophisticated aromatics with several flavorings, you will probably like this. Having been reminded, this will probably be my blend of the day.

I just ordered two cakes, it sounds very tasty and right in line with the cool weather and holiday spirit. I’ll report back after I’ve tried a few bowls.

I had a negative experience with a holiday blend from Peterson several years ago. I felt the cinnamon and/or other spices contributed to a definite tongue bite chemical burn, and I pitched a pricey batch after months of trying with it. This blend, on the other hand, is excellent. The flavorings taste good and don't bite, and the burley and Virginia at the base is top notch.

One more point about Thanksgiving Day, it is an unusually long-burning blend. It will take the occasional re-light, but in a Group 5 or six pipe, packed firmly but not over-tight, and tamped before re-light, it seems to go on and on, and ready for re-light the next day if necessary. If you savor contemplative long duration smokes, you might like to try this one. The aromatic dimension is subtle and not obtrusive at all.
