After 9/11 popular country music became inundated with bootlickers and no-talent hacks who couldn't write a compelling song to save their life. Kris wasn't afraid to call that shit out, and never wavered from his radical politics and beliefs. He could have cashed in, sold out, or shut up, but he didn't. I respect that, and he was a phenomenal songwriter.
