Knowledge on Local Ordinances Houghton MI?

As stated above, I am moving to Houghton, Michigan from Marquette, Michigan in early January to accept a job. The only apartment I could find to rent is a non-smoking unit, so I'm trying to find out how strict the local area is about smoking outside (sidewalks and streets, etc.)?


My current place is also non-smoking but it's in an area of town where nobody really cares if you smoke outside provided you're respectful about it, so I'm trying to figure out how strict Houghton is about that stuff?

From what I read it doesn't look promising. Meanwhile in Ann Arbor, a short distance away from you the goddess Mary Jane has been worshipped for decades.

Late to the party but here I am! Houghton you will find is just as chill as Mqt. I am guessing you are not a Yooper? The defiant people of the Upper Peninsula of the Great State of Michigan is alive and well in Copper Country and in the Gateway to the Keweenaw which is Houghton. You will find smokers outside of the more than plentiful bars around town and just out in general. Smoke without hesitation or fear my good fellow.
Make sure you eat at 4 Suns across from the Quincy Mine when they open in June, best fish you have ever eaten outside. Congrats on the new job!
