I should have thought to check here before ordering, but does anyone have any thoughts on the Peterson Killarney 408? Slightly unusual pipe with a slight bend and somewhat apple chamber. Thoughts?

I can't comment on the 408, but the two Killarney I have, a B11 bent brandy ebony and a 999 P-lip (my only one) are well made and good pipes.

Looked at the pipe online, very traditional, solid and handsome looking to me. Killarney rates high on the PC customer reviews, five stars.

Peterson 408 its a bigger brother to 407 which usually come with straight stems. I think Peterson's 408 chamber size equals to Savinelli 315 prince or at least to their scaled down prince shape of 313. I have had one Killarney 407 in the past, nice pipe but the heavy lacquer coating on it did not appeal to me too much.

I got the 408 today, and it is a terrific pipe. The chamber is spacious and the slight bend is great for clench. Perfect!
