What a great night for you and your son. Pitching is a high art, and the concentration alone is incredible. That can be used in every human endeavor. And the teamwork, you and your catcher reading each others' minds. Tell your boy to take good care of that arm.

It most definitely is. One of the most difficult things to accomplish in sports. Perhaps only surpassed by the perfect game, which really takes some serious alignment of stars to pull off, in addition to the skill and practice.

Congratulations for your son. Was the game only 4 innings because you said he got 12 outs?

He got 10 strike outs and two pickoffs, thus 12 outs directly attributable to him. Presumably the rest of the team contributed to some outs! Thus, 9 innings, maybe 7 depending on the league.
