Too bad, all these stories. In essence we seem to have STG, C&D, and GH remaining?

I suppose though that the hobby has become small enough in the West that we should expect there will only be one or two remaining before too much time passes, or before regulators snuff them. (No pun intended GH)

Hopefully those days prove to actually be further off.

I find it ceaselessly amusing how some think that pipe smokers are a friendly lot. I remember old men smoking pipes when I was a small child as being some of the grouchiest, most disagreeable folks I can remember encountering.
While that might’ve been true of your experience in the past, I find it to be personally subjective. I have found pipers to be the most giving, helpful and affable people around. Having spent most of my life in various clubs, civic organizations and leagues the pipe community is the nicest group of folks going in my book. Ymmv

You've not seen some of the wars that have broken out here that have gotten members banned and threads deleted.

Very true i have not. However, in person, my belief stands. I have witnessed douchebaggery on other forums i belong to with similar outcomes. At the end of the day we are all folks who love pipes and tobacco

Cornell and Diehl already sells blending tobaccos in small amounts. It's possible they'll start selling in quantities that brick and mortars can use! That's even more growth for a growing company--and a good one to boot.

I think between C and D, the houses of Gawith, Kohlhaus and Kopp, HU, Dan, Germain (when one can find it haha) etc., there should hopefully be some good tobacco to go around! I am bummed about the Seattle Pipe Club blends (especially Plum Pudding), but I've heard a rumor that C and D might take those over anyway. I'd be fine with that if they use good leaf!
I enjoyed going to a brick and mortar store in Nashville. The only tobacco they sold loose (with their own names on the jars) was from C&D. It was no secret what the blends were. The store simply told you the name C&D has for each one. It was wonderful. I hope more store do this. I discovered a ton of blends just sitting there.

Always enjoyed his interesting blends and fun artwork. I don’t usually reach for an aromatic, but his Deep House is amazing. Stocked up on that recently.

Mountains of Madness, Van Gogh, and The Patience of Dr. Silence, just to name a few, are also quality, and well worth buying if they come back around.

Glad you enjoyed Smoker’s Abbey.
Next time, if you have time, go to Madison Cigar Club. It’s WAY better.

I gotta say, I laughed when I read this and then marveled when a song I hadn't thought of in 40 years came to mind as I moved on to next comments. Remarkable what gets in head.

I've been a fan of them since the early '80s. Personal Jesus is my alarm clock.
