Let us know how it works. I hope to someday have a den that I can smoke in, but I would definitely want some robust air handling/filtration for it as well.

Air circulation is a delicate science. I have a full time fan on in my smoking area. Try it in different places around the room, different heights, etc., until you get the best results. A Vornado fan might do the job, or supplement it.
I spoke with the company rep and for a 10ftx10ft room it will turn over the air 14.5 times in an hour on high fan speed.

Pallidan, I'll be looking forward to your thoughts. I've been back and forth on these for a while. Peoples comments run two ways when I check feedback:

1. Awesome. Smoke 10 tubs and you'll never know bowl one got puffed in a room.

2. Gimmick. Smoked one bowl and tobacco smell stained the fabric of reality in my house.

Like no middle ground where system pretty A-OK and situation where it struggles....it's either heaven or hell. Will be interested to see how your adventure goes.

and no way to tell what's really happening. Maybe both are right or only one is or there are factors that effect how well it works. Maybe some materials absorb smoke so readily the rabbit can't stop it. But who knows. We got to get someone to give us money to test out all the possibilities.

I still think if you have fabrics in the room they will pick up and hold the smell of smoke. I don't think there is anyway around that, except for smoking outside. I only plan to smoke inside during the winter months here on Long Island.

It comes with a 90 day money-back guarantee, it gives me plenty of time to see how well it works for me.

I don’t know why I never put two and two together, but we have a really tall ceiling in our living room with a big fan right at the apex. We also have some type of heat recovery ventilation system, or whatever it is. Basically it does something to keep the humidity level right inside the house while also retaining heat from the moisture that it pulls out, or something. I’m not an HVAC guy and don’t know how a lot of that works.

All I know is that when we take showers, each bathroom has a little button on the wall that kicks the return on for that system in the bathroom. If you forget to turn it on before taking a shower and it’s really steamy in the bathroom, you can kick it on and the fog is gone in a matter of seconds. There’s a return for this system in the living room, high up on the wall near the fan.

We also have in floor radiant heat. The combination of these few items, I think anyways, is creating a convection effect in my living room where the fan (spinning to pull air up) is aiding the rising heat from the floor and sending cooler air down the walls. Regardless, when I kick that vent on in the living room, I can watch the smoke float up and go out the vent. I smoked 2-3 bowls on my couch before my wife had any question of what was happening, and even then I had a few pipes sitting on the counter that hadn’t been cleaned.

I want to do a little more research to see exactly what all is going on, but it seems like this system might already work like a ventilation system, which at the rate I smoke, would mean indoors almost entirely from now on - an encouraging idea since the wind is usually blowing 4 to 5 hundred miles an hour.

I have a blueair and I believe it works well, but then again I smoke. Good luck. I think the technology is better than it was a few years back, most have triple filter systems. ?
