Pulled the trigger on a RabbitAir yesterday. Keeping my fingers crossed that it will do the job. Hopefully it will keep my 10ftx10ft smoking room clear of smoke. If not, back it goes.
It's scheduled to be shipped on 12/23. Once I get it set-up I will post a review.Let us know how it works. I hope to someday have a den that I can smoke in, but I would definitely want some robust air handling/filtration for it as well.
I spoke with the company rep and for a 10ftx10ft room it will turn over the air 14.5 times in an hour on high fan speed.Air circulation is a delicate science. I have a full time fan on in my smoking area. Try it in different places around the room, different heights, etc., until you get the best results. A Vornado fan might do the job, or supplement it.
and no way to tell what's really happening. Maybe both are right or only one is or there are factors that effect how well it works. Maybe some materials absorb smoke so readily the rabbit can't stop it. But who knows. We got to get someone to give us money to test out all the possibilities.Pallidan, I'll be looking forward to your thoughts. I've been back and forth on these for a while. Peoples comments run two ways when I check feedback:
1. Awesome. Smoke 10 tubs and you'll never know bowl one got puffed in a room.
2. Gimmick. Smoked one bowl and tobacco smell stained the fabric of reality in my house.
Like no middle ground where system pretty A-OK and situation where it struggles....it's either heaven or hell. Will be interested to see how your adventure goes.
I still think if you have fabrics in the room they will pick up and hold the smell of smoke. I don't think there is anyway around that, except for smoking outside. I only plan to smoke inside during the winter months here on Long Island.Pallidan, I'll be looking forward to your thoughts. I've been back and forth on these for a while. It comes with a 90 day money-back guarantee, it gives me plenty of time to see how well it works for me.and no way to tell what's really happening. one thing is I am sure it's not going to really be enforced except for some cases.Hopefully it works out for you. If not, maybe there's a market to sell it to an apartment tenant in San Francisco ?
The RabbitAir has 6 filters, hopefully it works wellI have a blueair and I believe it works well, but then again I smoke. Good luck. I think the technology is better than it was a few years back, most have triple filter systems. ?
