That's interesting. I did of a quick dive and so far, the "Algerian Bruyere" stamps I found were only on Suntans. The rest had the common "Aged Bruyere" stamping.Algerian Bruyere

The Kaywoodie is listed as having a Suntan finish, so a darker and warmer stain, not light tan, counselor.
Kaywoodie, at that time, used some of the best available briar on the market, including the Algerian briar.I would love to have a thirties Algerian Kaywoodie.
If they were the same grade of Algerian as Marxman they’d color like a Marxman.
That is a carburetor Kaywoodie and I have several.
I’ll bet it’s a wonderful smoker.
Learn something new everyday! How does it smoke? Does it gurgle?Operas and streamliners had dual draft holes to compensate for the oval bowl.

The carburetor and the opera are not the OP’s pipes they are mine and they are not the same pipe. I only posted a pic of the carburetor because the OP said their pipe had a U stamped on the bottom and I want to confirm that’s what it looked like. Those Streamliners had the double bore to allow the front of the bowl to burn better. Why they put a carburetor in I don't know, but that is probably a C for carburetor and not U. This thing is mid-thirties more than likely. I know people are saying earlier but the Streamliner really didn't exist until the mid-thirties, and those earlier pieces were fit on pipes later.
No more than any other pipe. It’s a very small bowl, so it’s a quick smoke.Learn something new everyday! How does it smoke? Does it gurgle?
You can understand my confusion with the lack of other pictures. Lol.The carburetor and the opera are not the OP’s pipes they are mine and they are not the same pipe. Not the counselor, but It’s my understanding that the “Suntan” is lighter tan marketed to go with the lighter colors worn in summer. The Kaywoodie is listed as having a Suntan finish, so a darker and warmer stain, not light tan, counselor.
