That's not a 4 hole, that's a 3 hole. I believe that would make it 1950s or later. I'd have to dig around for more information from when I bought my oldest kaywoodie months and months ago. The 2 digit number should help narrow things down more.I recently picked up this Kaywoodie and can’t determine when it was made. It’s stamped Kaywoodie Drinkless, imported briar and 42. Looks like a four hole stinger. Maybe someone could chime in and help? Thanks!
Ah okay. Thanks for the info I appreciate it!That's not a 4 hole, that's a 3 hole. I believe that would make it 1950s or later. I'd have to dig around for more information from when I bought my oldest kaywoodie months and months ago. The 2 digit number should help narrow things down more.
Ofc! Looks like the 42 is a medium apple made between 1927-1972. Given the 3 hole stinger which my notes say is 1955, that narrows it down quite a bit. Kaywoodies are difficult to date.Ah okay. Thanks for the info I appreciate it!
Oh wow that’s good to know! Thanks again!Ofc! Looks like the 42 is a medium apple made between 1927-1972. Given the 3 hole stinger which my notes say is 1955, that narrows it down quite a bit. Kaywoodies are difficult to date.
Beautiful pipe though! The black clover was supposed to indicate their better briar.
Yeah I did google it before I posted this. There’s alot of confusing information out there so I thought I would post the question here. Thanks for nothing.
Kaywoodie dating is a hit and miss proposition at best. The links that come up are the same info that the best posts provided.Yeah I did google it before I posted this. There’s alot of confusing information out there so I thought I would post the question here. Thanks for nothing.
Someone with more time than I could rebuild it. I still reference whats left from time to timeI miss the Kaywoodie Compendium, an excellent source of information, now sadly lost. Nothing on the Internet is forever.
I used the Wayback Machine at the IA, but the captures were incomplete. Sometimes you get lucky and there’s enough between the captures to rebuild a site but this wasn’t one of them.Someone with more time than I could rebuild it. I still reference whats left from time to time

To be fair he is currently in Poland to take part in the World Cup of Pipe Smoking as part of Team USA.A PM or DM! might be quicker; the @xyz sometimes doesn't work.
And if you reply to one of his posts, that should - or may- give him notice.
