Just Wondering about Gorgeous Pipes

Do any of you have a pipe (or more) that you just can't bring yourself to smoke because it is too beautiful?

I have a pipe from Ser Jacopo (Italy) . It's part of the La Pipaccia Series. I paid hundreds of dollars for it. I just can't bring my self to dirty it.
Do any of you have a predicament like this?

None. I have a couple of pipes left unsmoked, but will probably cull those anyway.

Sort of, but not exactly. I have not yet smoked this Yanik meer but not because I'm reluctant to, just not in any hurry. It's the first pipe I've ever purchased solely for its artistic quality. I've admired his carvings and finally decided to purchase one when I saw this...but I did so knowing I would not smoke it often as I prefer lighter, more easily clenchable pipes for daily smoking. It's the first pipe I haven't smoked soon after acquiring.

I have a couple, a Castello Pi and a Tinsky. I just know I'm going to damage the rims



I don't have a picture of the Castello unfortunately, will have to take one.

I've got this one. It's remained usmoked partially due to its small chamber size but mainly because it came with its original box and sock signed by Preben and it is featured on his Pipedia.

I bought this one just to look at.

Never. If I wanted a piece of art, I'd buy a painting or a antique piece of furniture or something. I buy pipes to smoke. I also don't buy 1000+ dollar pipes - I don't know that I could bring myself to smoke a Formers or something of that caliber if I bought one. It would at least be a rare occasion

I have a Particulary unusual Vauen that is brand new.. Saving it for a special occasion one day, most likely when I get a man shed or “Den” of my own in the new year. But otherwise no. Pipes are made for smoking

I have a Ser Jacopo Dublin with a serpentine shank and stem, a blast, that I think is beautiful, but I sure smoke it. I've had it since 2013, and it still looks great, maybe more so with some mileage.

No, I did let my last Radice sit for about three months before smoking it but that was only because I had several other pipes I was already in the process of breaking in and just wasn’t ready to start another one.

I have a few antique pipes that are unsmoked and will remain that way, at least by me. An unsmoked Barling companion set from 1907 is a rarity that I appreciate. I like the time machine effect. I have no shortage of pipes to smoke.
