This is what I do and have always done. I just kinda stuff tobacco in there a bit at a time till is seems right, tamp a bit with a finger and light it. If it’s not perfectly filled, who cares? Sometimes I do take my time with it, though, and try to get it as perfect as possible.
Strangely enough, when I take my time I often make an arse of it. Do it without thinking and rarely have a problem.

Gravity Fill here. ;)

I just sprinkle/drop very small pinches that can just be dropped into the chamber(s), then once it gets to the rim, I lightly press down, that’s all I do.

This always works fine for me, but the trick I’ve found, is for smaller chambers, I need to make sure some blends are rubbed out to get the tabac smaller, even if it is an already rubbed/ribbon blend, I might rub it further, to make the ribbons even smaller.

Yeah I've had way better luck these days with just pinching a bunch and plopping it in than when I first started and tried all the "official" methods like the three step method.
yeah when I started nobody said there where techniques to packing a pipe. Some tips and tricks but no here is step one now step two now there now put the kettle on and let it get to a full boil...
