Well, I’m certainly in no need of a knife. I used to make handmade custom knives and I still have a few that are sharp enough to shave with and strong enough to skin a rhinoceros (you never know when you'll run into one of those pesky rhino's while out for a walk). I was simply commenting that a knife which might possibly be useful for cutting plug and rope tobacco is nothing to sneeze at considering that it’s ....free. If by chance it isn’t worth a tinkers damn then no loss, harm or foul. Hey, it’s sure as hell better than a refrigerator magnet!

I'm surprised no one mentioned that it a $60 value (MSRP), but sold for 19.95. P&Cs owner, Cigar Int'l has a couple reviews, they seemed happy. We are getting it free but they paid! Also I guess it was around $8 at one point. Anyway if it at least puts a little dent in the pirate kake before shattering I'll be happy lol.
Sorry I didn't say so earlier but that's a nice order you put together newbroom. I love all of those blends. Most of those are the same ones I've made in recent orders.

I knew a guy once who, if you gave him a brick of gold as a gift, would complain that it was the wrong colour, too heavy, and didn't have handles.

An ordinary brick? Bricks are so passé, I wouldn't be satisfied with anything but a 1KG sphere of 197 Au counted on the atomic level.
One of these, in a stable Gold isotope.

Great haul of tobacco newbroom and nice knife! Although, given the lack of a bushcraft/knife culture in the UK, I'm speaking from a position of extreme ignorance. Given the very heavy legal penalties in the UK for even carrying a knife, which derive from an automatic assumption that you intend to use the blade to stab someone, I don't see them taking off anytime soon. Having said that, I'd love one of those for my plugs!

I would love to see a company do a nice knife dedicated for pipe smoking.

Wenger had a decent looking cigar knife.

But I get along fine with an old Victorinox Soldier, the cap lifter is especially handy on hard to open tins.

Just lift a bit till you hear the "whoosh" and then it spins or pops off easy.

For cutting plug and rope I find Opinel hard to beat as they are pretty thin and can be sharpened to a razor edge.

Andy, I lived in Manchester back in 1971 and returned for a visit a few years later. It was a delightful time and place. I sometimes wonder just how much would be familiar now as it seems that much has changed. A return visit is on my bucket list. I had not realized that the knife laws were so restrictive now. I always have two knives on my person. One would be a legal carry in the UK, the other most definitely not.

So your the guy that swiped up the last bit of Mississippi River! Nice order BTW, the knife is a nice gift to cut plug etc. if not then you can use it to dig out toe jam from under your toe nails.

Thanks for the 'likes' on my tobacco order. I'm psyched, because other than the SWR, it's all new taste. I passed on Escudo to try the Miss.River...damn Dagner videos got me. But, I do have some Escudo, and know that it's wonderful.

@greg - Manchester is still a great city; I'm there on Thursday and Friday this week. Most parts are much as you left them - typical English streets and houses. Some places are stunning and other parts are so dangerous the police are the prey rather than the criminals. Things that won't have changed are the buzz, the superb nightlife, and the wonderful food in Chinatown. You should go back and take a look.

Andy, good to hear. Say hey to the city for me. I lived in West Didsbury and commuted into the city each day.
