Just a strange thing that I’ve noticed for about the past two weeks or so when I’m typing a post and I can’t figure it out. The letters all seem to be faint. For those older folks like me that remember using a typewriter the letters look like the ribbon is running out of ink and are not printing fully. As the old adage goes: A picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ve included a screen shot of what I’m talking about. This only happens on this site and I never see this issue on other forum sites that I occasionally frequent. Once I hit Send Post the post, and all the other posts as well look fine. I’m just referring to what the letters looks like in the post window as I’m typing. I’ve also noticed that a person’s signature has the same problem as to the way it looks. I’ve included a screen shot of shaintiques signature as an example of the way it looks to me. It’s no big issue, but at times it can be quite irritating when I wish to proof read before submitting a post as some of the letters are difficult to see. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just on my end?

Phil, I have noticed this also, about the type in the reply window. Looks a little better as I'm typing this...

No, and even if I do it has no effect whatsoever with the issue as I've already tried that to see if it makes a difference. As for my browser I use Firefox. Like I previously mentioned, this just started about two weeks ago and up until then it was fine and this issue does not present itself anywhere except here.

I can't see how it could be the browser as it looks the same way with IE. Just can't figure it out seeing that it only occurs on this site. Must be those damn poltergeists messing about with me again and maybe that explains why all of my furniture has been moved around when I wake up each day! Oh well, maybe this damnable thing will go away just as quickly as it started.

Go to your options in firefox and go t the content tab, then what is the default font and size?
It's 16, but then again I've never changed it and I didn't have this issue up until about two weeks ago.

This is perplexing. I've been researching for about 30 minutes and have nothing yet.
On the one hand, it seems like it is some type of local issue with your machine or browser. On the other hand, it is odd that it only happens here. I'm still leaning towards some type of local issue though.
Can you remember if you changed settings, or installed any add-ons right before this started happening?
I did have one weird thing happen about a week ago where I couldn't see the text at ll in the reply box, but it was there. It was like it was white on white. However, the problem went away after I shut down my browser and restarted it.
Try that, and also try resetting all of the browser settings to default.

It may be anti-aliasing.
Start/Control Panel/Display

Appearance Tab/Effects Button

---The second drop down allows you to change form Standard font to Clear Type.
If that doesnt do, I found this link that may help

Another thing to try is to make sure you have the latest version of Firefox, which is currently 33.
Following is a link that tells you how to see which version of FF you have. I just followed those instructions, and while doing so, Firefox automatically updated itself for me.

Yep, I did an update and the newest version for Firefox is 36.0 although it didn’t resolve the problem, nor did I think it would. I haven’t done anything or changed anything to my computer in any way shape or form for quite a long time. What makes this so frustrating is that this problem ONLY appears on this site which makes it so damn hard to track down. As I said before, I have no such problem with other forum sites and I just recently posted on pipemakersforum.com and it looks just as it should be. But here… it looks as though I’m going blind!

The same phenomenon occurs @ my online poker site's chat box. It too seems to be about 2 weeks old. I think it's Firefox somehow.

Letters don't appear distinctly as I type them and once published they're fine. It's MY end that's the problem in my case. The letters look like they were a carbon copy made with well used carbon paper.

Seems to be improved this a.m. somewhat.

^^ Yep, that's a good description of it. Certainly not the worse thing, but very irritating.
