Had a delivery waiting for me when I got back to the office today after vacation. Included was my first tin of Jackknife Plug.
Had to open it then and there and, oh my, does this stuff smell delicious. Cannot wait until this evening when I'll get to slice off a bit and give it a try.
I'm think of slicing a flake and doing the fold and stuff for the first time out.
Face it, among the things that make this pasttime so satisfying are all the nifty little rituals.

Well, slice fold and stuff resulted in an essentially plugged pipe, so next time I'll rub it into ribbons and fill normally.

So tonight I sliced it very thin, rubbed it out, and gave it 30 minutes to dry.
It smoked very nicely that way.
Interesting, complex tobacco that will take several bowls to appreciate fully. Very old-fashioned in a way.
As for vitamin N, it is certainly there and noticeable. Not sure I'd agree it knocks one over -- but of course that's a subjective thing. I would say it is not as potent as, say, Peterson Irish Oak -- a famously nicotine-rich selection. It's certainly nothing like, say, a Monte Cristo No. 2.
