Just Got A New MM Cob

As the title says I just got a new cob.I got a MM Pony My old one was an estate that came with my pipe rack. The old one was starting to taste bad. Well I loaded up my new cob, and started to smoke it, and I got a bit of a chemical taste. Now that I'm done smoking, I took a puff from it with nothing in it and there is no chemical taste. Does anyone know why it tasted like that? This is the cob I got

That happens with me with every Cob I get. Sometimes lasts the first 2-3 bowls get a "off" almost chemically taste. Not sure exactly why though.

It could be one of several things, the varnish they use or if the taste came towards the end, the glue they used for the stem. Or could even be just the "sweet" taste a new cob can impart on your smoke that tastes like chemicals.

It's the cob adding taste to your smoke; it goes away after a few bowls.

Mine tasted the same and cleared up after a few. I have a little MM bent egg.

Its the coating they use it will go away in a 2 or 3 smokes

I smoked it a second time, and it was much better. I like how its got a small bowl. It's great for quick smokes, and it's very easy to smoke to the bottom.
