I have vowed that I am done buying pipes. I HAVE SO MANY. But, I am weak. My wife asked me to go antiquing with her and I saw lots of nice pipes but I resisted. We were at our last stop and there it sat...heavily smoked, rough shape, $7 price tag and original box. I initially walked by it and my wife picked it up and said, "it's seven dollars and it's kind of cute". So....I bought it, brought it home and brought it back to life. Tomorrow I will smoke it for the first time. Every pipe has a story!

Beautifully done work, it doesn't look that well smoked anymore but I'm sure it's about to be!

I was antique-ing with the gf on our last vacation and the shop had a few dozen on a shelf but nothing that really caught the eye... still though, I can't wait for my first true hand-picked estate.

Hope it's as sweet of a steal as this one.. and so does my bank account

That's a great pipe for less than half the cost of a tin of tobacco.

I ALWAYS say "yes dear" even if I end up doing my own thing. She is a rare bird...she likes my pipe smoking, always has, and doesn't care where I smoke or how much I smoke. She has bought me many pipes and if she drives by our local shop she will stop by and pick me up tobacco. I also support her interests. We have been marries for 40 years and I am grateful every day!

I too have vowed to stop buying pipes but I have a soft spot in my heart for old pipes in antique shops that are in need of some love. If it catches my eye after multiple visits, I buy it and tell my wife that I am putting it out of it's misery, which is true, but in a good way.
