Just a little lakeland, but not too much.

I'll have to try the Condor. I've heard too many people love it for it to be bad. I'm happy to give it a go. I'll try most things once... except necrophilia and beastiality!! I'll have none of it so don't try to convince me otherwise!!

I second the notion that lakelands should be started with a light scent, then working your way up, it's kind of like with alcohol, I didn't like beer at first or whisky on the rocks, the first time I tried scotch I gagged in disgust, but now it's nectar of the Gods. I started with Bob's chocolate flake, then BB#2, then when I tried the unscented stuff I couldn't taste any hint of Lakeland flavour. I want to try some full strength stuff now eventually

TO me Hyde Park is more sort of sugary than lakeland. I find Peterson's Perfect Plug to have a whisper of that floral sort of essence though.

That's odd because I'm seeing in the reviews that some people don't taste any of the floral notes and there is no note of any floral essence in the tin description and some people swear up and down that it's heavy on the Lakeland flavorings. I wonder why this is? I plan on smoking my first bowl of it sometime tonight.

Oh sorry man, I guess I should have clarified as I was talking about Peterson's Hyde Park. I do have some 3P from 2010 that I just recently smoked and I got absolutely nothing even remotely floral coming from it but it could be that the flavorings have dissipated in the last 6 years, I'll have to give a new tin a try. I'll let ya know what I think of the Hyde Park, though.

You can find Peretti's original blend at ljperetti.com under burley... here: http://www.ljperetti.com/l-j-peretti-tobacco-cat/burley.html

Thank you, sir. I meant to update the page to inform you that I already found it and purchased an 8 oz tin.
As far as Hyde Park goes, it's good, I think I'm going to really like it but I don't taste even the slightest bit of Lakeland flavorings. Now, I just had surgery done on my sinuses a little over a week ago and my olfactory nerve receptors are still coming back to life, so it could very well be that I'm just not able to pick up on that aspect of the blend. I just recently smoked a bowl of St. Bruno and I could hardly taste any of the floral's in that, so take my words with a grain of salt until I get my full olfactory sensations back.

Haha, I get the impression shutterbugg is a grumpy old man. [:puffpipe:]
I suspect those who enjoy the taste of smoking a urinal cake have a genetic mutation that also makes them immune to grumpiness.

I don't want to be haunted by a non-tobacco flavor, but clearly this is a positive to many. Reading this thread makes it pretty tempting.

I just received the Peretti blend and the Rich Dark Honeydew today. I'll post my thoughts up here when I get to them. I love getting multiple packages in the mail!
I believe the Kendal Cream Flake you have listed above is actually Samuel Gawith. GH makes a Kendal Flake which is delicious but maybe a little too heavy on the Lakeland essence for you? Another one that comes to mind that might be of interest to you is their (GH) Grasmere Flake. I find it to be pretty lightly floral but I could see how some might think it's too much. Anyway, something to research.

Markthelad, I really think you're gonna love Peretti's Original Mixture! I just got done with my first bowl and I'm very happy that I bought the large tin. Faintly floral with a very stout base, smooth and creamy. Any fan of Condor will surely love this one as well. I'm very excited about it!

hawky, that sounds promising. Thank God you didn't find it repulsive, cause I took a gamble and ordered 8 ounces of it already. I would have orderd more, but I didn't want to get stuck with more of something that may not have been all that good. I'm looking forward to trying it.
