I've never been into churchwardens. I should probably own one some day.
But I'm getting to the point where shorter and lighter is my favorite. Jaw must be getting wimpy in my old age.

My Peterson Churchwarden with a rusticated bowl. I have had this pipe a loooong time and it has never given me a reason to doubt it.
Nonsense. The man makes the pipe, not the other way around. It's how you hold it that matters. Confidence, man, you're and Australian for goodness sake...
A churchwarden is NOT a walking around pipe - although there will no doubt be a few people who will no doubt say they do exactly that.
It is a pipe best for pondering. It has a smaller bowl so it lends itself to a shorter than average smoke - although there will be a few people who will say they can smoke it for over an hour.
It wants to be held. Not tightly, but gently. You should take it out of your mouth when you speak.
Think of it as a wand. It wants to point, conduct, and sway with your most minor of movements and at the same time, it is perfectly content to not move at all.
When you smoke your churchwarden, your stare will be more penetrating and your glance will be of one who has both power and authority.
I hope you find your way to getting one in your collection.

The Stanwells are great at working as convertibles as well. And of course the beauty of a Peterson is rarely unmatched.
