I accidentally posted this in the “What are you smoking (cigar)” section…. but I see that is not really the correct place (asking to have it removed). So I started a separate thread…..

I have been trying out new (for me) Jorge cigars and they are quite pleasant….. the latest has been a 70x6 Maduro…. a lot of nice flavor and strength!

But, of the six Jorge cigars I have tried, half (three) have started to unravel around the 1/2 consumed mark. Have any of you found this to be common in Jorge cigars, or have I just had poor luck? Just curious.

Of the six I have had, I have tried three different types. Having a fairly substantial unravel happens every once in a while, I know….. but this seems higher than typical from my experience.

Anyone else who has tried Jorge cigars have an opinion or advice? It is a little bit distracting from the relaxation aspect of a cigar, to have it start to unravel, and to keep smoking it I have to be more cognizant to try to hold it intact.

I have only tried one Jorge, an habano, and did not experience this...but instead, the draw became extremely tight just past the halfway point. I used the Perfecdraw, and it pulled out an huge piece of leaf: after that, the draw was wide open and the flavor completely disappeared. It was really good until that point, and I'd try another, but am not in a hurry to do so.

I have not had Jorge cigars, but speaking of PerfecDraw, PerfecRepair works well to fix unraveled wrappers:

I'm not familiar with the Jorge brand, sorry

Cigars can be frustrating. I heard it said once that with cigars a lot of choices have already been made for you (as compared to pipe). Sometimes stuff happens that can't be properly fixed.

Curious where the unraveling is starting from... the head (where the cut is made)?
