With all due respect, the blend wasn’t named the “Bipolar Disorder Express”. If so I would agree, it would be in bad taste. This seems to be a reference of polar opposites in the blend.
Astute and likely true.
I love the name.
It might also be a take on the Christmas movie classic, “Polar Express”

I think it’s funny and perhaps an accurate description of the subjective experience of smoking the blend but I absolutely understand how it could rub some people very wrong as it clearly has.

My heart breaks for anyone touched in a painful way by mental illness directly or indirectly.
I’m currently dealing with it in my mother and it’s fucking heart wrenching.
I still like the name of this blend though and I’ll absolutely buy a QP.

Considering his track record for blend naming and being told by himself to go f myself a few years ago when I messaged him about being excited to try Rouxgaroux, I highly doubt that.
Well, much like Merle Haggard’s mother, I tried.

Next time, I will remember to “like” the review, offer thanks to @JimInks, and stay out of anything else that ensues.

Well.

I happen to be MASSIVELY insulted by anyone, anywhere, and at any time who points their finger at something for any reason.

Why?

Because Gavrilo Princip did it immediately before shooting Archduke Ferdinand, which triggered World War One, which caused my great grandfather (on my mother's side) to lose his business, which meant my grandmother's pet rabbit Alfie had to be served for dinner one night... and the thought of that is the most painful thing I've ever known.

But people persist in pointing at things ANYWAY.

ALL THE TIME!

It's like they ENJOY causing me pain...

Then again, I just had a thought.

Is it possible that everything, everywhere, all the time... is not about me???

Maybe. However, it is also okay to express an opinion about the crass and insensitive nature of the blend's name.
Yeah there is something off about naming a blend after psychological condition with a high mortality rate. I personally am not offended by it but it's still doesn't sit right. Seems just kind of stupid frankly.
Love how people will say they can name it whatever they want. Yeah they sure can and we can say what we want about it. Freedoms cut both ways.

I don’t speak for the guy, but if you don’t like the name, don’t buy the blend, hell, boycott WCC. No one cares.
The blend is terrific.
So we can only have two reactions. Either we don't care or have to throw a tantrum and boycott. The name is in bad taste but it's not in such a bad spirit that Ernie needs to be punished. Further more you might even think that a small business owner would want feed back from their pretty small customer base.
I mean in all honesty I doubt there is any malice in the naming. But it's still not really something that is going to sit right with me to name a blend after a condition that is literally deadly especially if not treated. And at the least we can make a positive out of it by talking about it.
But ironically what a bipolar reaction enjoy the blend or boycott. And if no one cares then why are so many people talking about it?
And I get it though no one likes being told what to do, either way.

It’s a forum, everyone has opinions, it’s not about that, it’s about taking a thread and turning it into something it’s not.

Let’s be fair, you escalated the rhetoric after a couple of brief but fair comments. And here I am perpetuating, lol.

The name of the blend is part of the blend and its marketing. Fair to comment about it, in whatever way, IMO.

Another in a long line of great contributions from Jim - none of this detracts from that, it stands on its own.

Yeah it's a reference to the opposites in the blend. Sure but I think everyone is well aware that the most common use of the term bipolar is for the disorder. It's implied, even if that isn't the intention. And no matter the intention that's obviously how it's being read and other terms could have been used.
Or in other words I don't feel like that explanation changes anything. And again I'll say it's in bad taste and no one needs to be crucified or boycotted but it's still going to be pointed out. And again I'll say if I had a small business I'd want to know how my potential customers react to my choices. I'd rather not loss any money over something if possible.

As someone who also lost his first wife to bi-polar disorder, leaving me two little girls to raise by myself, I fail to understand how just the word can piss someone off.

It must be difficult living in a world where a word that is everywhere will trigger such anger.

I chuckled when I saw the name, but it wasn't till I read Jim's review that it made me want to try this one. Very clever.

Menthol. Menthol??? That’s the most blatant and disgustingly racist thing I have ever read on this forum.
If that’s racist then you sir are sheltered. Perhaps homeschooled?

I thank you for that last comment in particular. I'm almost sorry that I posted it after some of the comments I have seen.
