I bought 10. I doubt I’ll get to them anytime soon. I have a lot of one off releases that get cellared for a number of years before I get to them.

Supposedly this release contains vintage Katerini from a stash that Mark Ryan had.

I always confuse Katerini with Katsuri. Since the nomenclature is similar. I think Watch City used Katsuri in a blend recently. But I’m just ramblin now…

What, no burley? But this sounds good. I'll keep it in mind, despite my rather gradual use of the many blends in my stash. Another great review from the master.

About 1/2 way through my first bowl of Eccentric. I wasn't sure about this one when I bought it, previously iffy of Latakia. However, I've come to enjoy a couple of bowls of a Latakia (English) blend recently in the cooler weather here in the Mitten, so I decided to open up the tin of Eccentric this morning. Since I only have the experience of two bowls of the non-branded B&M blend to compare it to, take this with a grain of salt, but I found Eccentric to be smooth and soft, the Latakia and Katerini pleasantly mild and very very much enjoyable. I'm a nic wimp and had zero issue with it. It took 3-4 lights to get an ember going, but stayed lit until half way through the bowl. A subtle oriental spiciness comes through on stronger pulls, though it smokes cool as Jim mentioned in his review. I smoke outside, so can't comment on the room note, but there isn't much of an after taste and the residual mustache note is very light. This was smoked in a new (second bowl) Bones Stovepipe which the chamber is approximately 3/4" DIA x 1-1/2" deep. Overall, glad I opened this tin and look forward to smoking the rest of it. If you're on the fence with Latakia, you may actually enjoy this blend. As of this morning it surprisingly is still available at Smoking Pipes.
