So, based upon JimInks' reviews, we can safely conclude that, in the case of these particular pipe-tobaccos, STG stands for Sorry Tepid Generics?

see lot #6 FS: 9 Aged HU and DTM Lots (Fayyum Kake, Flanagan, Dockworker etc) - 06/08/2025 :: Tobacco Sell/Swap/Search - https://pipesmagazine.com/forums/threads/fs-9-aged-hu-and-dtm-lots-fayyum-kake-flanagan-dockworker-etc-06-08-2025.109943/I don’t suppose if anyone knows if HU Dockworker is making it state side?
Would love to know that timeline. Super super great stuff.
Which one, the old (until last year) DTM production or the new Kopp production? Mac Baren/STG vs DTM/KoppI don’t suppose if anyone knows if HU Dockworker is making it state side?
Super super great stuff.
I don't know if there is one in the final product. The DTM stuff is good indeed.Didn’t know there was a dif.
I only tried the 50g tin. Had 2 and burned thru one tin. Super great stuff.
I have it on good authority that STG will soon be making only one blend, 507C, but selling it under six dozen different names.I tried the STG Capstan last week. To me, it tasted a lot like Orlik Golden Sliced. Not bad, but not at all the Capstan I am used to. Disappointing!
I haven't tried them. I will if I have an opportunity to do so.Howdy @JimInks! I was just wondering if you have gotten your hands on any of the new STG produced versions of Three Nuns and Presbyterian Mixture yet? I always liked the Mac Baren versions of them and am curious how the new STG versions stack up.
Three Nuns is the one blend from the acquisition that I wondered if it might actually be improved for my palate, since I liked the base tobaccos but wasn't overly fond of Mac Baren's distinctive honey casing that they put on it. I'm slightly hopeful that STG might have toned down the honey a little.
Do you have any idea when or where or what to look for ?I have it on good authority that STG will soon be making only one blend, 507C, but selling it under six dozen different names.

Sorry, that was a joke.Do you have any idea when or where or what to look for ?
What about Savinelli and ES 4th brand? I know STG has remaked the 4th tins line already, but not sure the bulks now.FYI, I was in Svendborg on Friday, visiting my old colleagues and catching up. So far production for pipe tobacco is still up and running at the present Mac Baren facilities and everything "Mac Baren" ist still produced there under the regular staff. The original plan set in 2024 for all pipe SKUs to move to STG Assens (old Orlik factory) by autumn 2025 haven't materialized yet. Tins are labeled STG, as it's a legal requirement. Mac Baren is still ordering its own leaf, uses the same recipes (even for the old Planta SKUs like Presbyterian and Danish Black V) and no machines have been relocated or destroyed yet. As I was there, they were currently pressing huge batches of St Bruno Flake.
