This will be a regular addition to the Low Country line. It goes on sale Tuesday, June 10 a 1 p.m. EST.

The more obvious aged white burley and the aged dark burleys produce a wealth of nuts, bread, earth, wood, some sharp, dry, bitter sourness, spice, floralness, sugar, molasses, creamy cocoa, and very light anise. They take a very small lead. The 31 Farms St. James perique provides plenty of mildly sweet and rather sour dried plums, spice, dried figs, floralness, bread, earth, wood, light dried raisins, and a little smoked mesquite in an important support role. The plums, figs, floralness, and spice equal the burleys’ attributes. The bright Virginia supplies a lot of tart fermented citrus, sour lemon, floralness, grass, bread, vegetation, spice, mild sugar and light acidity. It just misses having a secondary support role. Right behind the bright is the aged, matured red Virginia. It contributes a moderate amount of tart and tangy citrus, grass, bread, mild sugar, earth, wood, floralness, and light darker fruit, cream and spice. The unsweetened Dominican black cavendish imparts very light tart and tangy citrus, vegetative grass, earth, wood, peat, sugar, leather, cream, and a bare hint of smoky cigar although it mostly acts as a flavor holder. You’ll notice it if you look for it. The chocolate and molasses casings have a moderate effect on the experience. The strength and taste levels are full. The nic-hit is a couple of notches past the center of the medium to strong. No chance of bite or harshness. Has a few rough notes. Well balanced, it burns cool and clean at a reasonable rate with a very consistent, nutty, sweet and sour, floral, spicy, lightly creamy, bitter, deeply rich flavor that extends to the pleasantly lasting after taste. The room note is a bit pungent. Barely leaves any dampness in the bowl. Doesn’t require many relights. It’s not an all day smoke, but it is repeatable. I suggest no more than a medium bowl for this blend. Will ghost a briar in time. Four stars out of four.

This one is very smooth in my opinion. Maybe from the Dominican Black cavendish? Very tasty. Not very strong in taste as might be expected from the burleys but very well balance with the virginias. Has a nice sweetness to it as well, along with a nice nic hit. This may become one of my favorites
