The Virginias offer some citrus and tangy dark fruit along with a bit of earth, some grass and wood, and a minor spiciness. They also have a slight fermented sweetness and a mild floral quality to them. The strong, rich, tangy orange topping takes a little of the lead over the deep honey, and the vanilla also has some depth of flavor as it underscores every puff. The toppings sublimate the Virginias quite a bit, though their inherent strength allows them to be noticeable to a mild extent. The nic-hit is slightly more than mild. The strength level is a little closer to medium than it is to mild. The taste level sits squarely on medium, and goes just past that line by the time the bowl is finished. There’s no chance of bite present, nor are there any harsh or dull moments. Burns cool, clean and a little slow as flake products often do with a smooth, fruity sweet, highly consistent taste from start to finish. Leaves just a little moisture in the bowl, and requires a fair amount of relights. I can see this ghosting a briar, so I suggest using a meer or a cob. Has a very pleasant, lingering after taste, and pleasant room note. Not quite an all day smoke, but one that’s repeatable.

Thanks friend. I just finished my second bowl of this tobacco. I agree with your review. Your reviews are among my favorites and I frequently use your reviews to bolster my buying confidence.
I really enjoyed this tobacco. It was so moist out of the bag that I couldn't get my first bowl lit. I packed a pipe full of it and let it sit in waiting for 20+ hours. When the tobacco seemed sufficiently dry, I lit it up.
It was such a mellow smoking experience. Despite the noticeable flavorings, I was able to taste and appreciate the Virginias. My bowl lasted almost 30 minutes and as you implied, it was a satisfying smoke from start to finish.
No tongue bite whatsoever. The aftertaste was quite pleasant.
My second bowl was also very enjoyable.
I look forward to my next bowl. I imagine this will age beautifully. I think I would buy this again.

This is one that I put immediately in the cellar, hoping to forget about it and let it age happily away. But your review has awakened the Devil on my shoulder who is telling me to GO OPEN IT!

To be honest, it's that I've got a bit of a backlog going on in terms of tobacco, and I need to get through a few others first. Not a bad problem to have, no complaints! :)
