Retailers got allotments folks. If you missed out, check with your Local B&M if they carry C&D. I am going to pick up my reserved tins tonight and a couple more. I feel like i'm gonna like this one and would rather have a couple to smoke vs a couple to cellar this go around.

I'm not surprised it sold out super fast, the podcasts and social media hype have been in full gear and to their credit it sure sounded great. I managed to get three tins after waiting in line for about 40 minutes on the site, probably the longest I've sat and waited on Smokingpipes for a release. I'm excited to try it though.

True, and nice that you got a few! I was on the site 5-10 minutes early surfing around getting ready and still had to wait 25-30 minutes. I grabbed a couple too. Everything locked up all of a sudden and I didn’t even get the “Youre in the queue” message. It just said “try again in a few minutes.”

Will they release more in the coming days, or was this it?
Look for it on the country squire website over the next few days. Will be at a markup though. Actually its available now they usually wait a few days after the initial release.

Yeah I tried to get on the site at about five till Six and I guess I wasn't the only one with the idea of get on early.

That's what happened to me. At 6:00-6:01 the homepage was loaded and I clicked on the Sun Bear link and didn't get into the queue. I shrugged off the minor inconvenience as the result of the inevitable DOS attack by the Tin Bids crowd.

Disclaimer - I am a smoker, not an investor.

Had it not been for the rum cask treatment, I probably would have passed. I still have a couple of tins of each year of release, so I guess I like SB, but don’t love it. I’m a sucker for rum anything, however, so I picked some up.
Just, as a note, the tobacco/blend was not treated with the rum cask... it was only the honey that was treated.

So, don't expect a "rum cask navy tobacco" flavor, any rum or barrel age notes are going to be only in the condimental honey casing, not the tobacco itself, so they'll be lower in strength than if the blend itself was treated in a barrel-aging.

I read the marketing materials like everyone else, and was thus fully aware it was only the honey that was treated. As for expectations, I’m not really sure what to expect.

I'm the exact same way. My 2 favorite (non-aromatic) flavors/features of pipe tobacco are Orientals and Rum so... while I've loved Sunbear from the first year it came out, (Even though I could only confirm it with my 1st acquisition 2 years later, LOL!) my previous stocks had me ready to just ignore this years' vintage. It was almost out of sheer luck that I (late on Monday night) said to myself "Huh, it's around Sunbear season... wonder what the current iteration that's probably already sold out was..."

Wouldn't ya know it, I was greeted to a blog post about how the drop of boozey, honey, Turkish goodness was to be in 14 hours lol.
The half hour of dread and refreshing internet pages in the UPS parking lot reminded me why I wanted to ignore it but in the end it all worked out 😂
I got my healthy dozen, now I wish everyone else good fortune puffy

I didn't buy any or even try. I'm waiting for some other things to come back to stock but I made the mistake of reading the "reviews" on SP. I get some people are upset that they didn't get any but why is everyone hating against Chinese people? I don't get it.
I'm sure for a variety of reasons. Some probably think that is why they can't get stock while others not from here do..? Idk...

Personally I will say the only main thing about it that ticks me off is that SP doesn't take the time to implement a feature that translates their reviews into the user's selected language of the site. I think that is just annoying and is probably a big part of what sets off other people into whatever theories/grievances they may hold...

I think when it comes to all reviews the name should be kept native and the review text translated. I haven't coded since college but in my head that can't be a terribly treacherous task to achieve...

It’s easy to hate on the invisible boogeyman from the east. ☕

Racism, fear and ignorance.
That’s the whole story.
Allowing that garbage to stay up is a very bad look for smoking pipes dot com.
