Sounds like a powerhouse blend with real depth rather than gimmicks, and definitely more of a “sit down and focus” smoke. Wide bowl tip noted… and Tuesday can’t come soon enough.
Agreed.. was getting tired of the "Another VaPer but this time with 19.4578% instead of 19.42879% perique!" limited releases lol
At least this one seems to have a unique hook

Bought some tins, both out of nostalgia for the tradition of the levee fires down in LaFourche Parish and to possibly substitute some of my rationing of of Old Dark Fired. I might compare this one to Speakeasy, a new favorite of mine in the winter as it also has components of Kentucky, Perique and Virginia. It is a "Navy Blend" with a light rum topping, but understated, which is a plus for me. I expect this one to have a bit more in the Kentucky Department. I plan on cracking a tin on New Years Eve. Ironically, I am having some backdraft issues with a wood fire chimney, so my entire house currently smells like I am inside of a Kentucky curing barn.

Got my order yesterday, not a bad blend but I'm not overly impressed. It'll be a nice change every now and then but I'm glad I only ordered two tins.

Oddly enough, I walked into the pipe and cigar shop where we hold the New Orleans Pipe Club meetings on Dec. 18th and they had five or six tins of Fires-ON-the-Levees sitting on the shelf.
I had read about it.
I had read about the long wait times to log into on-line retailers.
I had heard rumors that it was out of stock already.
So I bought a tin and cracked it open at the meeting.
I thought it was good. I smoked another bowl or two the next night.
Saturday night I stopped by the shop to see if it was still there and bought the last two tins.

I consider Fires on the Levees to be a new Christmas blend by C&D. And I think the name matches the smoke this time and brings back memories of bonfires I've attended in the past.
