Amazing post count, Jim. I may have to dig though my comics to see if I have anything with your art in it. If so, it's going on the shelf by my pipe rack.

As I recently returned to pipe smoking after a 15 year sojurn with cigars, I really had no idea of what the more recent blends on the market tasted like. I did find that some old favorite s were still worth smoking, but jiminks reviews here and at TR have been invaluable to me. This is as good a place as any, I suppose, to say thanks!!!!!

Snowhill: love the map, man. Love the post. :D
Toobfreak: I'm a two finger typist. If MSO can type, he'll eventually leave me in the dust.
Anthony and Oldgeezersmoker: many thanks for the kind words.

@jiminks, I so respect your views that I am very close to trying Edward G Robertson. Last I tried it in the early 80's it was pretty much all PG, lanolin and preigniters.

jim's reviews are so complete and succinct, and have such good detail presented in such appropriate order, I feel like I've sampled the blend just reading the review.

In every case that I have read I've found Jim's critiques of various blends to be always spot on with a laser-like precision.

He matches my taste profiles as well. I have never gone wrong using his reviews to take a risk on a new tobacco.
Thanks, man! :)

I thank you fellas for the kind words. I'm always pleased to know my reviews are of help to others, whether it helps them decide to buy or not buy a blend.

It would be my observation that few have contributed as much. You can always count on Jim to present his experience in a concise and professional way. On a personal level, Jim and I exchanged notes several years back on tobacco reviews. His approach was both interesting and eye opening. We are quite lucky to have him aboard. Thanks Jim and keep posting.

I missed this the first time around, but we are blessed to have Mr. Inks here. I use Tobacco Reviews and always look for his reviews. I have read so many that I am able to correlate, with near certitude if I will like a blend. One example, Savinelli 140th Anniversry aka 140°. I would have never ordered it but for your review. It is now my favorite blend. Thank you for putting your heart and soul into this pastime.

Glousterman and Jackswilling: I thank you both for the appreciation. As for Savinelli 140, it's one of my favorites, too.

Jim, I absolutely agree on 140, it's not something I would even try. But your review had me order some. The order arrived yesterday and I've smoked four bowls. It's as good as you say. Thank you.

140° is flying under the radar. All Savinelli blends are from Mac Barens except this C & D

Masterpiece. It takes up the most space in my hoard.

Savinelli - Giubileo d'Oro is also another great blend

Thanks again, Ashdigger.
Jackswilling: I haven't tried the Savinelli Giubileo d'Oro. Glad to hear you like it. I should try it some day.
