If you click on where it says "Click here to listen to the podcast", you can hear it. I'm listening now. Gee, sure sounds like Edward G. Robinson to me!

Cortez has articulated my feelings to a tee. I'm going to listen this evening, it's my Friday night ritual!

That was a great interview. Nice getting to hear Jim discuss the world of illustration as well as various tobacco blends.
Brian, sorry for not being more specific with my DGT question. I usually always pack a bowl for later on in the day. I am interested in the other version of DGT;charring a bowl and saving it for later. I have recently heard that VA heavy blends are better for this than English blends. Although it's subjective I would love to hear more about this. If this has been discussed already, could you please direct me to that show? Thank you so much. Here's to Tuesdays from here on out!
All the best,

Andrew

Very enjoyable episode, as always guys (Brian, Kevin, and guest Jim). Enjoyed the recap of the KC show also. I can now put a face to the voice as well, thanks to James Foster's article about the KC show!

Although your question is directed to Brian I felt compelled to share the little that I know on the subject of 'DGT'. It was a practice that 10-15 years ago that was often mentioned on pipesmoking forums and publications and yes, you are correct about it being applied more toward VA's. IIRC, the practice of lighting a bowl of Virginia or VaPer and allowing it to go out and set for a spell then relighting. It tends to calm down the sharpness and mellows out the blend. If my guess is correct it's primarily used on tins that have little age on them and cellaring was not as commonplace then as it is now and that alone may be why we don't read about the practice as much these days. All of the above may be pure conjecture on my part but it's a theory none the less.
