I've had squashed tomato lust forever, I think. @JimInks has an absolute beaut he smokes often. They're uncommon and I think a commission from the right carver might be the only way.
I was inspired to get one because I had seen a Poul Winslow one that was incredibly beautiful. It was also $500 and there was no chance of affording the money for it. Basil Meadows made a beauty for me, and it's one of my favorite pipes as you know.

I agree that, unless you get very lucky, the best way to get the squashed tomato you want to commission from the right carver.

Looking at them again, I think squat and squashed might be distinct shapes, to be fair. These are squat and very attractive they are too.
