This is a delicious, heavy smoke that is more savory than sweet. As others have pointed out, it's also got one heck of a Nicotine kick.
I've found that I greatly prefer the Ready Rubbed version and am now cellaring it in quantity. I find the virginias to be a lot more pronounced in the RR version, which gives it a little more sweetness. The two versions are very similar, however, and many smokers might not discern any serious differences.
This is one of those GL Pease blends in which Greg has elevated blending to an art form. It's not just tobacco, it's an experience (in the right pipe at the right moisture, etc etc).

Triple play is strong too. I just tried it for the first time about an hour ago. But C&D Night Train Takes the heavy weight belt as far as I know. It is a bit on the harsh side though. If I inhale Night Train 2x I get the spins. lol

Can't give a review as I'm still a noob to the hobby. I can say that I finally got to cut into my plug after it sat in the tin for three months and I do like it. Got a nice burn in the nostrils when I retro-hale that I've been missing with my other blends (is that the nic doing that?)

...and of course Night Train is on the list now.

Cut off a cube, let it dry for a few hours, blast it in your coffee bean gringer for a few pulses = perfect flakes to gravity fill your pipe with.
This blend in my opinion will have a legendary following if it goes away for whatever reason. It's amazing. :puffy:

After reading them I'd rather invest in some Night Train. I'll be trying JKP, but I think I have to go with some Night Train to start with. I really need a kick in the morning. The Old Dublin gives me a little boost, but I need something tough.

Sean, I get a razor and cut a slab of aged JKP and then cube it for a large Dunhill pot that I like for it. It does have a healthy nic kick but you don't notice it right away because it is so incredibly smooth. I can handle it but halfway through the bowl, it hits me but good. Delicious in the morning with strong coffee and a chaser of OJ! Good luck in your nicotine hunt.
