J&J Break Up

I always liked their style, even if I thought they were a little pricey for young, new carvers. Anyone know why they split?

John and Jared couldn't stop arguing about whose initial was first. Finally came to blows and there was constant talk of a duel at sunrise with sabers. Scary business. Then Mimmo stepped in and said he wouldn't sell either of them any more wood unless they moved away from each other.

They wanted to pursue their own individual style. From the announcement I received, it was characterized as an amicable split and that they would continue to share the workshop.

SO they aren't moving away from each other? They just want to be identified as individual pipe makers?
That worked for Bill Shalosky, but this is imbedded in the J&J Brand. Kinda like if Vollmer and Nilson broke up. . .
Unless you are related, partnerships seem to never go as planned.

The only ship that never Sails is a Partnership... Just kidding. I don't think there is anything negative at all in the whole deal. I know John was talking about moving to Texas when I saw him in Chicago last year.

Just a side effect of the human condition. We all want to carve our own name in the annals of history. Hopefully, business goes up for both of them.
