That's OK Ernest,

Just don't over do it.

I too love a little Chateau Moo on occasion, but I can't handle that lite stuff.
I will have a shot of tequila served in a fresh jalepeno followed by some Chilis Toreados and Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo in just a little while.

I met a guy once that had always drank cream off his farm.He said the cream,even at the best of times in the grocery stores for him was like water and absolutely terrible.I guess it is all about what one gets adjusted to.

While web surfing a moment ago I ran across this little quote by Terry Simpson, MD, FACS, who is part Native American;

and, BTW, pro-tobacco in pipe and cigar formats; and also as N.A. ritual.

It is ironic that while Europeans joked that Indians could not handle whiskey,

the Indians joked that Europeans could not handle tobacco.

i didn't really drink tonight, and i started this thread! i had a couple of beers with my smoking buddy and some rum and coke, then we helped the radio station dj a dry event on campus. I tried mcclellands honeydew with s sierra nevada dark brown ale and was thoroughly pleased with each individually and the pairing of the two.

It's Saturday, and after working on the house all day, it was a couple of beers from Whistler Brewing Company: an Export Lager and a Classic Pale Ale to chase it.

I have been drinking a little tonight, and had a couple of cocktails for the first time earlier today. my buddy brian made me a tom collins which was pretty good, and then a gimlet, which is now my favorite cocktail. othervise, i have had a couple rum and cokes, first with a nice gurkha cigar and then with a clay tavern pipe of frog mortons on the town. otherwise i have been drinking killians irish red which is a staple for me.
the big thing for today was learning how to make beer bread, its hearty, tasty, cheap, easy and you can use any beer you want. here's how:

preheat oven to 350F

combine the following:

3cups flour

3 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp baking powder

1 tsp salt
mix up your dry ingredients in a bowl, then add 1 12 oz beer of your choice, preferably a boldly flavored one. mix it up to a nice even consistancy

take a glass baking dish (a deep one whose aspect ratio resembles that of a loaf of bread)
melt a couple tbsp of butter in the microwave, then coat the baking dish

add the dough, making it even across the dish. baste the top of the dough with some of the remaining butter (leave some for later)
bake for 20 min at 350F

remove from oven and baste the top (which should be somewhat hardened, and the dough should be starting to rise noticably) with butter.

bake for 40 more minutes and you're done
remove from dish

let it cool awhile

enjoy
