I just had a nice smoke of longbottom leaf in my tavern pipe along with a sam adams black lager. It was a bit windy, so i didn't get to enjoy the lingering aroma of longbottom leaf which smells great. The beer was perfect for the fall weather, the trees were rustling about and it just felt like a perfect fall night should.
so who's drinking what with their evening smokes?

Hi Space,
Lane 1Q is an excellent "go to" smoke. Aromatic, relatively inexpensive, and tasty.

I've been smoking it for years. It also, has a plethora of local names.

At The Briary it is called Yorkshire, The Tinder Box calls it Wilshire, and there are others.

Just good stuff... for me it's 4 out of 4 stars.

A couple of screwdrivers, and a long smoke on my churchwarden. Emerson's old school a local blend Virginia that's very sweet.

lane, like captain black lane?
Yes and BCA, RLP-6, and 1Q are all basically the same as the different Captain Blacks but have slightly different qualities. Some say they have less bite, preservatives, etc. To me they are essentially the same thing but many would argue otherwise. Anyways, the Lane (not the Lane Captain Black ones) are cheaper where I live as the local tobacconist sells BCA, RLP-6, and 1Q for $3 an oz whereas a pouch of Captain Black, 1.5oz, will run you around $7. It is even cheaper if bought in bulk online. Hope this helps.

HHMMM, who really is waiting until Friday to drink? Sam Adams has a number of great beers. I like a number of them. To me, it is worth the difference in price from say the Bud or Miller lines.

Tomorrow is Friday. I have a few bottles of ten year old semi sweet mead. I think I will pop a cork on one of those.

Nice! i've tried my hand at brewing mead in my dorm. it was very dry and tasted as though i had exposed it to too much oxygen during fermentation. I'm due to take another stab at it, just need a few supplies. I already stole about 12 lbs of honey from the dining hall.
