I have no idea who made that pipe and I have not come across anything Italian in ancient meerschaum world in my travels. That is not to say it doesn't exist. I will be interested to see if anyone turns up anything about this particular pipe.

I am auctioning the pipe and this is how I described it, "The case bares the moniker "Augusto Vaccari". Augusto Vaccari was a 19th Century importer of glass and pearls from Italy. I could find no evidence Vaccari was a pipe-maker. I extrapolate that he had this pipe commissioned, possibly to promote his business as an importer/exporter."
