It’s Great To Have Friends

One of my absolutely favorite blends is Pfeifen Huber Virginia Golden Flake, a wonderfully smooth flake with a delightful honeydew topping. I could happily smoke this one all day every day.
The problem is that it can only be purchased in Munich. You’re not going to find it at Esterval’s.
One of our members, Karam, asked me if I would like him to try to obtain some for me. He reached out to his colleagues in Munich, who bought a couple of bags for us, as he’s become quite fond of it as well.
The bags found their to Switzerland, where Karam lives, and he promptly packaged up a bag for me and sent it.
It was a bit of a white knuckler as the bag sat in Customs for over a week, then made its way across the US. Surprisingly, it didn’t bounce around the postal system, didn’t get sent to Olympus Mons, or get stolen by Yetis.
It arrived yesterday, the box reduced to shreds, but the Mylar protected the bag and it arrived intact.
I can’t begin to express my thanks. This is very very special, and I am deeply grateful for the effort Karam made to provide me with this wonderful blend. What a gift!

Good to see that the flakes arrived intact, if a tad banged up.

I should mention here, another member did the same for me, offered to send me a hard to find tobacco, if that was not enough, when it came I was blown away to see he packed TWO hard to find tobaccos! I reciprocated by sending him something which is easy to get to here, but a bit more involved elsewhere, you know who you are!

edit: haven’t smoked that in a few months, I will prepare a bowl for tonight
